What are the primary benefits of Invisalign?
They are almost invisible. There are no metal brackets or wires that could irritate your mouth and people hardly notice that you are wearing one.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
Depending on your need, goals and condition of your teeth, complete treatment can be done in as little as 6 months.
How comfortable is Invisalign to wear day-to-day? Will it hurt?
Invisalign aligners are generally comfortable to wear. However, you may feel some minor discomfort whenever you start wearing each new set of aligners which should subside after a few days.
Will I have discomfort while talking?
Like with any oral appliance, you might need a day or two to getting used to it, after which most people do not feel any discomfort while talking.
Do I need to wear it all the time?
It is recommended to to keep them on at least 20-22 hours a day. You can remove them to eat and drink, to brush and floss, or for special occasions.
Can I eat with Invisalign on?
No. It is recommended to take it off while eating and drinking to prevent it from breaking and staining.
Are there any restrictions on what I can eat while in treatment?
No. Invisalign aligners are removable, so there are no food restrictions like traditional wires and brackets.
What if I need to travel or go on a holiday?
You can ask you dentist for extra sets while you are away and continue to wear your aligners while on holiday. Your dentist can also make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan if required. Always consult with your dentist if you plan to travel.
Does my health fund cover the cost?
Yes, if you have dental insurance with orthodontic extras, your cost will be covered in full or partial depending upon your cover. You can either talk to your health fund or bring your card to our clinic to check the coverage.
